MUMBLES CYCLE RIDE
On Sunday, 4th July, our great friends from Pontlliw AFC braved the elements yet again to cycle down to Mumbles and present a cheque. After so many years, these ladies and gentlemen have sponsored thousands of pounds that have gone to equipment and good causes within the Centre. In the picture, Clive and secretary Stuart present a cheque to our Patron, British Lion Anthony Clement, with our secretary Simon and chair Roger to the side. Once again, we would like to express our thanks to these great supporters of the Support Group. PARENTS AND CARERS TAKE A BREAK
The Support Group hosted a special working lunch at the Swansea Marriott recently, with the plan to get to know the parents and carers better. An important issue wast to find out what activities and events families would like to hear about and the programme was a GREAT success!! Despite one or two who failed ot make it, there was a super buzz about and, as we guessed, everybody was more than happy to meet and compare notes with other families. Lots of suggestions were forthcoming and our next committee meeting will be working hard to decide what we can and will do in the future. Some of out hard working committee turned up as usual to help things along and we seem to have benefitted already in the recruitment of another parent, Natalie Hughes, to join our committee. Thanks to everybody concerned and also to the Marriott, who let us have the use of the room for nothing. |
