CHRISTMAS RAFFLE Once again, committee and supporters rallied around to contribute to a splendid hamper, put together by Darcy, for our Christmas Raffle. Tickets were sold mainly at the Centre, as well as around Hill House and at the Mountain Dew Inn. The winner was a regular up there and he was duly presented with the hamper at their weekly quiz. During the evening, Christmas quizmaster Junior Davies raffled extra goods and fined people for wrong answers, raising over £50 further! Junior was seasonally attired, as can be seen. Also pictured is winner Alan receiving his hamper.
CHRISTMAS PARTY Our Christmas Party was once again hosted by what is now called the Mercure Hotel on the 11th December and we are very grateful as usual. Children were treated to all the usual fun and games, plus sparkle tattoos from Kim, face painting by Ceri, colouring with Wendy and a spectacular sound show and amazing balloon-twisting from Matt Steele (The Occasional Twist), who provided services for nothing. A pamper hamper, a super teddy and a home-made cake were raffled and all won by parents and carers. Naturally, a big highlight was also the arrival of Santa, along with Darcy the Elf and an extra guest – a giant Teddy Bear! A great time was had by all and it really kicked off Christmas for many of us. Our other hamper, a bumper package, was won by a customer of the Mountain Dew, who sold lots of tickets for us. Congratulations to Alan.
SWANS’ STARS SIGN IN FOR THE CHILDREN Sponsors of the Charity Swansea City AFC kindly invited some of our children to Cyril the Swan’s party and pantomime on the 7th December. All the players were available to sign pictures, teddy bears and calendars and, as usual, they were smashing hosts to all those who attended. The Swans also donated 50 Teddy Bears to the Centre, with a special message and our logo, saying that it was from all the players and staff! Thanks again to the Swans and to commercial managers Andrea Morris and Joe Kelly
